Hello

Hello! I'm Dr. Keyur Sorathia, a fervent educator, dedicated applied researcher, and an immensely proud father. My academic and professional journey revolves around the fascinating realms of User Experience (UX) Design and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I hold a Ph.D. in HCI from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, where I have the honor of shaping minds as an Associate Professor in the Department of Design.

At the heart of my career lies the Embedded Interaction Lab (EI Lab), a lab I proudly founded 10 years ago. I also founded a VR-based surgical training and education company MadVR in 2023. Here, we merge innovation with practicality, exploring the depths of how humans interact with technology. I also head the Technology Incubation Center (TIC) at IIT Guwahati, encouraging and helping new startup incubate, mentor and support in their entrepreneurial journey.

My current research endeavors take me into the captivating world of Virtual Reality (VR), with a keen interest in its applications in education and healthcare. This journey is not just about technological advancements but about making a meaningful impact on society. My work extensively involves Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Development, reflecting my commitment to using technology as a force for positive change.
